Have you ever wanted the chance to perform in public?
Farsley Youth Development Project (FYDP) is looking for talented musicians to entertain the crowds at this year’s Farsley Festival. They want local people who can play an instrument to come along and give a performance on the busking stage. Anyone who’d like to can turn up on the day and sign up for a ten-minute slot.
Unlike TV’s X-Factor, there’s no judges to face – just lots of local festival-goers in a supportive and fun environment.

On July 19th, our friends at Farsley Farfield Primary School will be bringing along their gardening tools to give you the chance to make your own hanging basket.
For over a year now pupils at the school have been developing their green fingers by growing their own fruit and veg in the school grounds
We think it is fantastic that they will becoming along to share their skills. So if your front garden could do with brightening up a bit, come along, get your hands dirty and get planting.
We promise it will be blooming marvellous!

As part of the festival we thought we would set a family challenge. We want you to design and create a miniature garden which will go on display on the day of the festival.
You can be as creative as you like, the garden can be made on a plate or tray or whatever you have available. Just bear in mind it has to be miniature, it has to fit on a table with lots of other gardens and you have to transport it to Hainsworth Park.
Now for the really important bit, we want your garden to be based on the folowing theme. ‘OUR PERFECT FARSLEY’. We want you to think about the community and think about what would make it even better. What things could change in Farsley to make it ideal for everyone who lives here? What would it look like? We want your miniature garden to reflect your ideas.
So we want to encourage the whole family, old and young to work together on this one. Bring your garden with you on the festival day, the closer to 1pm the better, and head for the big Marquee where they will all be displayed. There will be prizes for all entries and an overall prize for the most creative.
WE HOPE YOU HAVE LOTS OF FUN!
